DSCNWA is offering an internship in the spring, summer and fall semesters for students in the Department of Human Services and Family Sciences at the University of Arkansas.
DSCNWA is offering an unpaid student internship each semester for a student or students in the Human Development and Family Sciences program at the University of Arkansas. The internship will be for 150 hours, consisting of 10 to 12 hours weekly. Some evenings and weekends will be required.

Interns will get hands on experience in our core programs and strategic initiatives. Special projects will be assigned to each intern that align with their academic focus and future career goals, as well as support one or more of DSCNWA’s core programs or initiatives.

Mary-Porter Fountain
Mary-Porter is from Oxford, Mississippi, and is a senior at the University of Arkansas. She is majoring in Human Development and Family Sciences with a concentration in Lifespan Development. She loves connecting with people and creating spaces for growth and healing. She hopes to become a Licensed Professional Counselor after college.

Mary's Internship Project will be evaluating our Member Supports and finding out what our member's really need and want in terms of supports.

Jordan Dekker
Jordan is from Arlington, Texas and is getting her degree in Human Development and Family Sciences with a concentration in Child Life and a minor in Event Mangament. Jordan will be pursing a career as a Child life Specialist after she graduates this December. She has always been passionate about meeting children where they are at and helping them meet their developmental needs while getting some smiles and laughs along the way.

Jordan's internship project will be working to expand our Medical Outreach program to Willow Creek and Arkansas Children's Hospital. So that we can continue to educate our providers to ensure the best care for our members.
